Job Overview

As Principal Reliability Engineer you will define Northwind's approach to service level objectives, incident management, and disaster recovery. You will act as a technical authority across teams and drive systemic reliability improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Define SLOs and error budget policy across product engineering
  • Lead post-incident reviews and drive systemic remediation
  • Design disaster recovery and failover strategies for critical systems
  • Coach engineering teams on reliability and capacity planning practices

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in site reliability or distributed systems engineering
  • Track record of leading reliability programs across multiple teams
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems failure modes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across engineering orgs

Compensation & Benefits

This position has an estimated salary range of $260,000.00 - $320,000.00 per year, plus potential equity and bonus.
